Note: The brand name is owned by, and the rum is distilled by, Cuba Ron Corporation. Cuba Ron Corporation & Pernod Ricard have a joint venture company that sells the rum worldwide but as the marketing is carried out by Pernod Ricard it is generally counted as one of their (major) brands. However, a rival Havana Club is made by Bacardi in Puerto Rico and sold in the USA and US territories. Bacardi claim worldwide rights to the name, having bought the brand from the original owners who fled Cuba when the communists took over. A long running legal dispute continues........
